Here's a note from my friend Mark Fleis. He's looking for votes for Zelienople, PA to host the primiere of the new X-Men movie. Zelienople is a small town about 45 minutes north of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. When I was in grade school, some new students moved to our school district, and they were from Zelienople. I thought it was some small country in Africa. I was very confused, because their English was so good. Some of you will have seen this note more than once, for which I apologize. The campaign is gaining more steam than I expected, so I want to let EVERYBODY in my address book know about it. You may not live in Zelienople, or even Pennsylvania for that matter, but this is a chance to do something truly noteworthy, and your time and consideration are greatly appreciated.
Back in the day, it is rumored that Judy Garland once visited The Strand during a tour she was on to promote one of her films. Now's our chance to bring another major Hollywood celebrity to Zelienople.
I have learned that 20th Century Fox is sponsoring a contest where the city that gets the most votes will host the world premiere of X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
Why not Zelienople??
You may think that all those big cities will have no problem generating the thousands and thousands of votes needed to win this contest. But those cities all have a gazillion zip codes, right? If YOU vote, and encourage everyone you know with an e-mail address to vote, we could have a shot at having Hugh Jackman and company visit the beautiful and historic borough of Zelienople and 'wow' them with some genuine home town hospitality. The publicity generated by it wouldn't hurt The Strand, of course, or Butler County Tourism for that matter.
The odds may be long, but so were the odds of getting The Strand renovated. All you have to do is go here and type in zip code 16063 along with the other information:

The Strand won't be done nearly in time for the April 27th Premiere, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it! Just getting the votes to bring in the world premiere would be a monumental win.
So Vote Early and Vote Often. Then tell your friends to do the same thing. Feel free to forward this note to everyone in YOUR address book.
