Happy Easter today, no matter how you celebrate it. Some people go to sunrise church services. Some people go to Mass. Some just enjoy the day off work. Some are looking for the Easter Bunny. Many different perspectives for the same day on a calendar.
Today's Comedy Around the World celebrates Easter in--where else--Jerusalem. Catholics believe the events of Easter happened at what is now the ruins under a magnificent church within the Old City. As visitors wind through the rocky, brick-lain narrow alleys, they can trace the path Jesus took on His final day.
Protestants, though, believe the sight where all of this occurred lies outside the Old City walls. There, the Garden of Gethsamane houses a grove of old, twisted trees and an empty tomb. A meditative atmosphere permeated the grounds as I wandered through the garden.
As one group stood in an ancient building, another stood outside. Still others today were looking for hidden eggs.
No matter what your perspective is, honor it. Tell us about it. Don't neglect to examine other perspectives, but do use your perspective as the basis for your story. And then--add humor from there.
